Club South Runners is a volunteer organization with a primary purpose to promote and encourage running for physical fitness and sport. Volunteers do all club promotions, manage races, and run the club's internal affairs. CSR-sponsored events range from road races, fun runs, fitness clinics, and social events, to cross country runs and track meets. We look to the community for volunteers to help with races and other events, and even serve on the Board of Directors of CSR. Please feel free to contact any of the Board members or race officials if you can help us out.
 

Volunteer needs for individual races

We need folks to help with the following:

• Confirm Deliver of Refreshments.
• Call Joe Macaluso of Advocate Monday or Tuesday to check if he can offer more info in the newspaper.
• Get info on race to local TV shows for their community calendar listings.
• Ice Down Drinks 1 hour before race.
• Call ahead and check w/ EMS to have truck on site for emergencies.
• On-Site Registration
• Set Up Tables
• Put Out Posters (PowerAde, Coke, CSR, Etc.)
• Put Out On-Site Entry Forms & Legal Waivers
• Put Out Other Event Flyers
• Race Course Administration
• Post Enlarged Photo Copy of Race Course.
• Recheck Course Markings and Repaint Markings, If Necessary.
• Put Out 1-Mile Mark.
• Introduce Yourself to Police and Reconfirm that they know course.
• Line Up Cyclist to Lead Pack Out at Least to First Mile.
• Help Tabulate Awards and Handle Finish Line Tags.
• Organize Awards Presentations.
• Clean Up After Race.
• Write Thank You Letters.
• Please please take a chance to help. If you race at least every other month, you need to help out at least a couple of events a year.
